In what ways can space be created in the public domain for meaningful encounters? For exchanging ideas and realities? How can we facilitate the emergence of new narratives within this framework? DesignArbeid explores these questions. At the Blikopener Festival, DesignArbeid presents the project Toon.

Toon is a workshop for artistic research and a platform for cultural programming in The Hague South-West. Toon places art, interventions, and artistic processes in the public space. Public works provoke conversations, creating space for different realities and ways of engaging with them. Toon engages with various societal themes such as: who owns the public space? What does saying goodbye mean? What is value? And what is work?
