  • Here, you can purchase a ticket for either Friday evening, June 7, or Saturday evening, June 8. We operate on a Pay-What-You-Can system, meaning you choose how much you can afford to pay for the festival.

  • We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy art and culture. That's why we offer Pay-What-You-Can tickets for Blikopener Festival. You decide how much you can afford to pay for the festival. This way, we make the festival accessible to everyone, regardless of your financial situation. An honest ticket price for the festival is €15. With this amount, we can properly compensate all the people who make the festival possible. If you can afford to pay more and choose a higher-priced ticket, you'll be helping someone with a smaller budget attend the festival - thank you very much! We look forward to seeing you on June 7th and 8th!

  • Blikopener Festival starts Friday June 7th and Saturday June 8th at 6.30 PM and ends at 2 AM. The doors will close at 12 AM, after this you can no longer enter the Suikerfabriek. See the timetable here!

  • Blikopener Festival takes place on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, 2024. On Friday afternoon we start at 3 PM with a symposium for professionals. Friday evening and Saturday evening from 6.30PM, we warmly invite everyone to come and discover surprising creations and perspectives. Are you ready to be challenged? Can you let go of fixed patterns and celebrate new inspiration? You'll find out at Blikopener Festival.

  • Blikopener Festival takes place at the Zeefgebouw on the Suikerunie site in Groningen. Navigate to Suikerlaan 10. From Ring West, take the Hoendiep exit and drive onto the Suikerunie site via the southern roundabout. Of course, we'd prefer it if you come by bike. From the city, follow the Hoendiep, and you'll be there in no time.

  • Follow Energieweg and park your bike at the bicycle bridge. Cross the bicycle bridge and walk up the large red stairs of the Suikerfabriek.

  • We encourage you to come by bike. Are you coming by car? Navigate to Suikerlaan 10 in Groningen. You will drive directly to the building and can park behind it.

  • Absolutely! From Groningen bus station, take bus 39 (platform Y) or bus 8 (platform U) to the Atoomweg bus stop. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the Suikerfabriek.

  • The Suikerfabriek is wheelchair accessible. The festival takes place in the Balzaal and the Grote Zaal on the first floor. There is an elevator outside that takes you to the first floor. Would you like to use it? If so, please email us in advance at info@buro-mix.nl. We will provide you with the necessary information to ensure easy access.

A co-creation consists of a series of creative sessions where artists and designers collaborate with residents to address a complex issue prevalent within society. Think of topics like loneliness, inequality, or stereotyping. Can we propose solutions to these themes? Together, participants work on envisioning new perspectives. This can take the form of dance, music, theater, visual art, literature, and everything in between. At Blikopener Festival, you'll discover the outcome of these co-creations.   • Blikopener Festival 2024 presents five co-creations: The Nightshop, Journey to Earth, Language for Loneliness, Get off the bank?!, and Present-Past-Future Dreams. We are seeking creative breakthroughs within the themes of stereotyping, our food and our soil, loneliness among youth, inequality, and future prospects for youth in East Groningen.
