Ruth Ruijgers, Jorrit-Pieter van der Heide en Mijke Eryng

In the colorful artwork Pillow Chaos by Lambert Kamps, you’ll find a gathering of wild, brilliant, and precise poets and always the finest music to complete your evening at Blikopener Festival. Natte Neuzen has everything to satisfy the hunger of poetry-loving Groningen!

Ruth Ruijgers

Ruth Ruijgers is the house poet of the University of Groningen (RUG) for 2023/2024. She has performed at festivals such as Dichters in de Prinsentuin and WinterWelVaart, judged at Kunstbende, and published in Op Ruwe Planken. In her poetry, she grapples with language. Whether she wins or loses that battle, it often results in vivid and playful sentences that explore the intersections of the societal and the personal.

Mijke Eryng

Mijke Eryng writes humorous short stories and poems about things that happen to her and catch her attention. These include cringe-worthy dating profiles, Mr. Uhmmm, 2C-B trips, Mr. Butter Chicken, work crushes, someone named Linda, teenage problems in fitting rooms, rearview mirror men, and barrel organs. She also sometimes reads from her teenage diary and has previously been featured at Poëzie Met, Poëzie op Zondag, and the Dichtclub. Additionally, she has recently become a co-organizer of the monthly poetry stage Natte Neuzen!

Jorrit-Pieter van der Heide

Jorrit-Pieter placed second in De Gedichtenwedstrijd (formerly Turing), performed three times at Dichters in de Prinsentuin, at the Amai Awards ceremony, and on numerous other stages. He is the founder of PoetryTalk.s and co-founder and organizer of the Natte Neuzen stage in Groningen.

His texts abstract his psychoses, and with his words, he creates a surreal, Kafkaesque reality where the narrative sometimes seems absent, but the structures of sound and image are clearly noticeable.

During his performances, Jorrit-Pieter draws the audience into this world and engages them in a conversation about morality in our modern world and its absurd reflection, without forgetting that it is impossible to determine what is right or wrong.

Don't expect to understand it, but do expect to grasp it.
