The Circus Andersom artists' collective embarks on a journey to the basics along with farmers from Groningen. To the origin of everything and where food emerges: the Earth. How do we, as food producers, treat the Earth? And what influence can you, as a consumer, exert?
The Ommelander streekmarkt serves as the starting point for this artistic exploration. We engage in encounters and travel to the origin of products. From which soil does our food originate? How can we make visible the earth on which the products grow at the Ommelander market? And how can farmers working in alternative ways make an impact? At Blikopener Festival, you will experience the answer to all these questions in a special market stall full of earth rituals.

The outcome of this artistic research is a tour through the Groninger Ommeland. Circus Andersom and Blikopener Festival invite visitors to embark on a literal Journey to the Earth. Fewer and fewer people know how and where their food is produced. Through years of market dynamics and government intervention, we have lost touch with our food and our soil. At the same time, farmers are ensnared in a strict web of regulations and expectations. Nitrogen rules, climate objectives, and a changing market with stringent demands. Many farmers want to do things differently.
But how does an ambitious farmer break free from an existing system? Meanwhile, the gap between city and countryside, between policy and practice, seems to widen. How do we restore the broken connections that have arisen? How do we ensure a healthy soil again?
