The Check Out

In The Check Out , we seek the 'sweet spot' between head, heart, and hands. We do this by slowing down and placing your thoughts and feelings into a broader context. Have you been inspired or become aware of something during Blikopener Festival? Do you feel touched, but does it sometimes overwhelm you? Step into The Check Out, and we'll help you further. Whether you need reflection or want to take action, here you'll find the space to let everything settle and decide for yourself which step you'd like to take.

The Turn Club

The Turn Club is a network of artists, creatives, and change-makers dedicated to tackling complex issues. We harness our imagination and resourcefulness to understand stalled processes with governments and organizations or address intricate challenges through creative capacity. By activating everyone's artist mindset and creating room to play, we translate ideals into practical solutions, exploring new pathways to the future.

About Merlijn Twaalfhoven

Merlijn founded The Turn Club out of a desire to amplify the transformative power of artists. As a composer, he has designed numerous unconventional music and theater projects on stages worldwide as well as in conflict zones and refugee camps. In his book "Het is aan ons" (It's Up to Us), he demonstrates how each of us can activate an artist's mindset to play a meaningful role in addressing global and local challenges.

Together with Jurriaan Berger, Merlijn Twaalfhoven will present a musical opening for Blikopener Festival on Friday, June 7th at 6:45 PM.
